Take Care of Oregon Days – A cooperative event between Oregon 150 & SOLV will be held at the Oregon State Fairgrounds on Saturday May 16, 2009 from 9am to 1pm. The Bike Park, including a BMX track, dirt jumps, and pump track at the Oregon State Fair was built less than a year ago. The park is scheduled to reopen this spring for public use. Help us welcome this new park by planting flowers and trees, raking, painting, and other projects!
In addition, volunteers are needed in the floral garden where preparation is underway for spring planting.

With more than 9000 things to do, see and taste, the 2008 Oregon State Fair (August 22 - September 1) is going to be too big to miss. This is THE BIG event in Oregon (350,000 attended last year) featuring all our state’s best, with the fairgrounds becoming Oregon’s fourth largest city.

Oregon Parks and Recreation, State Fair and Expo Division release Site Refurbishment and Redevelopment Plan for the 186 acre state fairgrounds.

Three plan alternatives have been presented in part to the general public and a final public meeting was held on May 31, 2007 in the Floral Building on the fairgrounds. Consultants and staff provided indepth background and explanations of the alternatives.
