Thank You - From Expo and Fair Manager Dave Koellermeier.
Congratulations to all who participated and enjoyed the 2007 Oregon State Fair. Your participation, support and suggestions made "round two" of the Oregon State Fair Re-invention a resounding success!
We committed a year ago to continue to showcase the tried and true exhibits and activities from 4-H, FFA and animal exhibits to fair food, carnival rides and world class entertainment. We feel we met this expectation.
We also committed a year ago to add venues and variety to the Fair. We had over 45 experiments. Without a doubt, these additions are being enjoyed by participants and patrons alike. The return of Artisans Village, expanded Oregon Food and Beverage competitions and dining experiences, and an entire new venue in Sports Health and Recreation. We see ALL these items returning next year with additional attractions.
At the 2007 Fair we launched an ambitious program/campaign to bring to the 2008 Fair and beyond a venue for featuring science and technology competitions and demonstrations. We are learning but think we are on the right rack in bringing new and fun venues to the State's annual celebration...
